Rene Castro

Rene Castro was born and raised in Boston, MA where he started his love for basketball. In 2009 Castro as a freshman led Milton High school to the State Finals where he played at the TD Garden and netted 23 points to go along with a game winner. They continued on to the DCU where they won the Division 2 State Championship. Castro then transferred to Worcester Academy where he earned accolades such as the 2011-2012 Gatorade player of the year in Massachusetts. During his Jr season Castro played for BABC AAU program where they won Peach Jam and AAU Nationals.


Castro furthered his basketball career at the collegiate level where he was recruited by Brad Stevens to Play at Butler for his freshman season. Castro then transferred to Duquesne University and as a senior averaged 13 points and 4 assists at the Point guard position. Castro graduated in 2018 with a Bachelors Degree in Communications.


In 2018 Rene Castro was able to take his game to the next level and play professionally overseas in England for the Sheffield Sharks.
